The past two years have been, and continue to be, incredibly trying for everyone – individuals, families, large companies, small businesses, educators, non-profit organizations, etc.\u00a0 Last year, Classic Drycleaners recognized that our non-profit friends were struggling right along with us.\u00a0 Many organizations canceled fundraisers and annual events that were crucial to sustaining their missions.We continued to support our non-profits friends with donations of gift baskets, gift cards, and bottled water, but those donations dipped to an all-time low given the canceled and postponed statuses of many events.\u00a0 Recognizing this hardship among our non-profit community, we made the decision to support two local non-profit organizations with monetary donations in our customers’ honor (in lieu of holiday gifts).\u00a0 It was one of the best decisions we made all year.\u00a0 This year, we are excited to continue our Holiday Giving tradition by supporting THREE non-profit organizations!\u00a0 Each organization received a $1,000 donation from Classic Drycleaners and Laundromat in honor of our amazing and loyal customers.<\/article>\n

Domestic Violence Services of Cumberland and Perry Counties (DVSCP)<\/a> – DVSCP supports the empowerment of those who are experiencing domestic violence through the provision of direct services and the promotion of nonviolence through social and systems change.\u00a0 Services at DVSCP include Emergency Shelter, Counseling and Advocacy, Children’s Programs, AMEND Batterers’ Intervention Program, 24 Hotline, Protection from Abuse Orders (PFAs), and Public Education and Outreach.<\/p>\n

\"Handing<\/p>\n

Hope Springs Farm<\/a> – The goal at Hope Springs Farm is to provide adults who have developmental and intellectual disabilities a day program to maximize their abilities.\u00a0 \u201cGrowers\u201d, as they are called, take part in various community activities including volunteering in the local community, visiting local museums, swimming, taking field trips, and shopping for the supplies they need to feed their animals and do their crafts.\u00a0 On the Farm, Growers have a variety of farm chores:\u00a0 feeding the animals, cleaning up around the barn, planting, and weeding and watering the gardens.\u00a0 They also learn a variety of independent living skills such as cooking, baking, and shopping.<\/p>\n

\"Handing<\/p>\n

Support Our Six Foundation<\/a> – Support Our Six Foundation Inc., is a local Dauphin County 501(c)(3) nonprofit that serves the families of Police, Fire, EMS, Dispatch, Corrections, and Military during times of need.\u00a0 SOS created systems that allow the organization to continue to provide families with food, supplies, and support in the months following a tragedy.<\/p>\n
